Carolina “Mimikila” Wilbanks has entered the penny casino in the sky after passing away peacefully on August 25, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. Having worked for the City of Pasadena for two decades, her affable personality was known in the community as one of the most generous.

A loving wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 59 years James Wilbanks; her children Bobby, Tommy, Patti, and John; and her nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She brought compassion to every aspect of life. Even if you didn’t know Carol, her wit, enthusiasm, and precocious sense of humor made you forget your troubles. When you were with her, all you could do is laugh. In addition to the endless love around her, she was also a talented pianist, cook, and renowned for her love of Christmas.

Carol loved her family more than anything else, once describing them as her greatest accomplishment.  She was an endless source of inspiration, a shoulder to cry on and a wise voice in times of trouble.

No doubt in less than twenty-four hours she has made new friends and has caught up with the loved ones who passed on before her, especially her beloved mother Rose.

The family will received friends from 4:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday, August 28, and the service celebrating Carol’s life will be at 11:30am Monday, August 29, all held at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home in Pasadena. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
