Billy Max Hendrix


Billy Max Hendrix, 89, of Pasadena, TX, passed away July 29, 2017. Billy was a farmer, a pastor for 13 years, and a nursing home administrator for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Hendrix, parents, Fred Lee and Mattie Mae Copeland Hendrix, two brothers, Merrill Hendrix and Foy Hendrix, and a sister, Pauline Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hendrix, of Pasadena, TX, four children, Dr. Sharon Sikes and husband Dr. Ray Sikes, Diana Gotcher and Jack of Utopia, TX, Gary Hendrix of Decatur, TX, and Debra  Hicks and husband Ben of Stanton, TX, 7 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, step-daughters, Cheryl Matlock and husband Clarence of Vidor, TX, and Kathy Stuckey of Deer Park, 7 step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-great-grandchild, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Billy will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at 9:00 A.M., at First Baptist Church Pasadena Chapel, 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where he loved serving and attending as long as his health permitted.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church Pasadena Chapel with Dr. Charles Redmond and Dr. Jon Redmond officiating.

Interment will be at 12:00 P.M., at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX. Dr. Ray Sikes, Billy’s son-in-law officiating.
