Patricia Jean Anderson Knotts, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 18, 2017.  She passed away at home with her husband, children, and granddaughter gathered around her bed, holding her hand.  What a blessing that she was able to see and visit with her husband, her children, and almost all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren during the final week of her life.

Pat was born in Adair County near Zion, Iowa on March 24, 1933.  She grew up in Creston, Iowa.  Her child rearing years were spent in southern California, and she lived her last 30 years in Houston, Texas.

Above all else, Pat loved the Lord.  She lived for Him, and the fruits of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control – were evident in her life and a comfort and encouragement to all who knew her.

She was a devoted wife to Elvin Knotts for 63 years, and passed away holding his hand.  She was a loving mother to her three children – Mike Knotts, Sherry Escobedo, and Angie Regalado — and taught them to lean on the Lord.  Draw close to Him, and He will draw close to you.

As her children got older, Pat went to school to become a Registered Nurse, and worked in the medical field for several years.  After Elvin retired, Pat and Elvin bought a motor home and enjoyed traveling.  They later became interested in dancing and for many years were members of Round Dance clubs and attended weekly dances which they very much enjoyed.  All through the years, Pat and Elvin were actively involved in church.

In addition to her husband and three children, Pat is survived by 14 grandchildren – Lauren Desalvo, Megan Knotts, Karen Akers, Allison Knotts, Eric Knotts; Brandon Escobedo, Mandy Almendarez, Diego Escobedo, Nicole Tello, Zeke Escobedo, Shyla Escobedo; Jessica West, Veronica Regalado, and Kevin Regalado.  Pat is also survived by 22 great grandchildren – Bryce, Sam, Caleb, Juliet and Nathan Desalvo; Oliver and Nora Akers; Logan and Luke Escobedo; Charisma, Sierra, and Ayvia Roach; Keegen and Emilee Almendarez; Penelope Tello, and Eli James (in utero); Cole, Beau, Ivy, and Raylan West; Awstyn and McKenzie Regalado.  Pat is also survived by siblings – Neva Hill, Rob Anderson, and Linda Dibel.

The service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Niday Funeral Home on Beamer Road in Houston.  A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017, also at Niday Funeral Home.
