White obit

Pat White, 66, of Houston Texas, passed away on Monday September 18, 2017 in his home.

Pat was born to Jesse Ray White and Lena Frances Sweatt in Floyd, Texas on March 26, 1951.  He attended school in Lockney, TX and kept up with many of his classmates over the years.

On April 5, 1971 Pat married Linda Thomason until their divorce in 1980. During the marriage the couple moved to Houston Texas where they had one daughter in 1973, Sharla Michelle White.

Shortly after his marriage to Linda he joined the US Marine Corps and was very proud of his service.

On February 14, 1984 Pat was re-married to Julia Parchman until their divorce in 2007 while residing in Houston they had two sons, in 1994 Shawn Patrick White, and in 1998 Devin Joseph White.

Pat loved his children and grandchildren more than anything in this world.  He raised his them to know right from wrong, how to clean a gun, change the oil, and shared his love for the outdoors. He instilled in his them a deep sense of work ethic and pride.  He would give them just about anything they wanted and loved to see them smile.  He was a proud father and grandfather would never forget to let his them know how much he loved them.

He was also an incredibly hard worker and held down at least two jobs for the majority of his life.  If we wasn’t working at his job he was constantly trying to help someone else out.  Whether it be a shoulder or an ear or helping to fix someone’s car or air conditioning, he was always there to lend a helping hand and truly enjoyed doing it.

Pat was commissioned a Colonel in the Texas Army by Governor Perry.  He was also a distinguished member of the Texas Army “Scouts”, a unit with special qualifications, and duties.  Several years ago, Col White was also inducted into the State of Texas, Chivalric order of the “Knights of Texas”.  He was proud of his Vietnam service in the Marine Corp. demolition units, and never missed a patriotic holiday, to call and wish members well.  He was a good friend, a father and a patriot, and will be greatly missed.

Pat is survived by his daughter, Sharla White Fults, her husband Joshua Fults and two grandsons Dylan Joseph White and Cameron Blake Spurlock all of Houston, Texas; his two sons Shawn Patrick White, and Devin Joseph White of Kansas City Missouri; and his Sister, DeeLean “Dee” F. White of Venice, Florida.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Ray White and Lena Frances Sweatt, and as his older brother Vernon Ray White.

Pat had many, many, friends and was loved by many.  His absence from this world will be not go unnoticed.  Until we see you again ….
