Wilma Renfro

Wilma Renfro, 84, born December 4, 1932 in Hollywood, California, entered the gates of heaven on November 30, 2017 in Houston, Texas.

Born to parents Lloyd and Helen (Coulson) Chapman, Wilma grew up in southern California. In 1951, she was introduced to a handsome young Marine. This introduction led to a new life and family – a marriage that lasted 65 years and the birth of three children.

After investing many years as a stay-at-home mom and serving as president of the PTA, the family moved to Texas in 1970 where Wilma started work as part time Christmas help at Foley’s department store.  This led to full time work where she finally retired after 20 years.  Not one to just sit, Wilma spent several years as a receptionist for Trinity Oaks nursing home.  As a faithful member of Sagemont Church and equally faithful in her various ministries, she spent many hours working in the church’s book store and with the Sagemont crew at Medical Bridges.

Wilma is survived by her loving husband, Paul Renfro; her three children Mark Renfro (Rhonda) of Bastrop, TX, Karen Seibert (Donald) of Devers, TX, and Sharon Connealy of Athens, AL, and her brother Bob Chapman (Georgia) of Modesto, CA.  She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous family members, friends, and loved ones. Preceding her in death are her triplet great-grandchildren.

We will love and miss her but we also look forward to a joyful reunion someday in her new home built by the Master Carpenter Jesus.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 1:45 pm at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston 77038.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to ‘Sagemont Missions’, 11300 S. Sam Houston Parkway East, Houston, TX 77089-4779 (note the donation is in honor / memory of Wilma Renfro and to be used in Sagemont Church Missions).
