Novark

Phillip James Novark, Jr., a lifelong resident of Harris County, passed away on Sunday, December 3rd at the age of 62. He was born on March 6th, 1955 and married his high school sweetheart, Anne Marie Kolaski on August 6th, 1977. He welcomed his two children into the world in 1982 and 1986.

James was a family man, a wonderful provider and loved his family deeply. When his children were young, he coached soccer in La Porte and is still called ‘Coach’ affectionately by his players.

James was born in Houston and attended St. Augustine and then St. Thomas High School. After they married, he and Anne Marie made their home in Pasadena. He worked as an engineer for many years and loved his job and the people he worked with.

James is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Anne Marie Novark, his son Gene and daughter Carrie Novark and daughter-in-law Helen Valier. James is survived by one grandchild, his namesake, Jamie Novark who was the light of his life. James is also survived by his father, Phillip James Novark, Sr. and sister Belinda Cantu and her husband. Also by brothers Carter, David, and Paul Novark and their wives, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

James loved the simple things in life like gardening and fishing. He could most often be found puttering around on his two acres with his chickens and vegetable garden. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him.

The visitation will be held at Niday Fairmont Funeral Home, Thursday, December 7, from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be Friday, December 8, at 10am., also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to: The Council on Recovery at councilonrecovery.org.
