Lynda Andrus

Lynda W. Andrus went to be with the Lord January 1, 2018.  She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on October 5, 1948 to William and Betty Wiebold, and was the oldest of seven children.

Lynda graduated from Forest Park High School in Beaumont, Texas, and attended Lamar University where she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority.  She was active in the Southbelt community and was an involved parent.  She held many leadership positions in her children’s activities such as Girl Scout Troop Leader, Frazier PTO Treasurer and Vice President, Thompson PTO, Dobie Football Booster Club President, and Dobie Cheerleader Booster Club Vice President.   Lynda had a love of children and teaching, and taught for over 25 years at Cokesbury UMC, Park Place UMC, University Baptist, St. Luke’s, and Burnett Elementary.

Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and her parents.  She is survived by her three children: Michelle Andrus, Darrin Andrus and wife D’Ann, and Jason Andrus and wife Clarissa.  She is also survived by her six siblings: Bill Wiebold and wife Sarah, Gary Wiebold, Cheryl King, Kirk Wiebold and wife Melinda, Tonya Montoya and husband Ed, and Byron Wiebold and wife Misty.  She leaves behind six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lynda was a vibrant woman who never met a stranger.  She was a second mother to many and always willing to listen or offer advice.  Her bright light touched many lives and she will be greatly missed.

In lieu of a formal service, a visitation will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Niday Funeral Home – Beamer.
