Lawrence Edward Stokley, Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Loyal Servant of God, was called to be with the Lord on January 8th, 2018 at the age of 70.  He was preceded in death by his wife Darlene Stokley and his mother Jane Teague.

Larry was born on November 4th, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas.  He moved to Houston, as a young adult, and was then invited to Gulfgate Pentecostal Church by a co-worker.  Soon after, he became a life long and loyal member of the church.  While attending there, he met and married the love of his life, Darlene Stokley (after only three proposals); and later assumed the role of Head Usher which he served as for 43 years.

He had two wonderful children, Stephanie and Stephen Stokley, whom he was deeply proud of, a son-in-law, daughter-in-law and seven grandchildren.  He loved being Paw-Paw to his grandchildren and many others he cared for in his home.

He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Garcia and her husband, Alex Garcia; son Stephen Stokley and wife, Sarah Stokley; grandchildren Melody Zayas; Makayla Zayas; Hannah Gonzales (Stokley); Jordan Gonzales (Stokley); Eli Stokley; Sophia Stokley; and Liam Stokley; a sister Janice Stanfield and husband Don Stanfield and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 12th, from 6-7pm, with the home going service immediately following at 7:00pm, all held at Christ Church, 12815 Fuqua Street, Houston, TX 77034.  Interment will be at Forest Park East Cemetery, Monday, January 15th, at 10am.
