Robert Mushinski

Robert Bruce Mushinski, age 58, passed away on February 3, 2018. He was born to Fruman Robert and Barbara Jean Mushinski in Houston TX on December 13, 1959.

Robert was sincere in his heart, happy with the simple things in life and humble in his accomplishments.  Robert was a devoted husband to Josette Marie Moraczewski Mushinski,(50) a father to two extraordinary children, Jessica Marie Powell (31) and Matthew Ryan Mushinski (29). His family was the highlight and focus of his life.

Professionally he was a journeyman lineman for 37 years. “Safety First” was his motto and this indeed saved many lives. Full of charisma, he was a great leader. He respected all those he met. He got along with anyone anywhere treating all equally. He inspired confidence and trust in a hard and dangerous industry.

Robert was a fantastic cook, he enjoyed fishing and as a carpenter built many things over the years for his family and grandchildren. He loved Galveston where he enjoyed many summers with his family by the sea.

Robert is survived by his wife Josette Marie Mushinski, son Mathew Ryan Mushinski, daughter Jessica Powell, son-in-law Ryan Powell, and his three grandchildren—
Jett Alexander Powell (5), Juliette Ryan Powell (3), and one on the way. His three sisters—Susan Renee Duhr, Leslie Anne Ownby, and Lorrie Beth Regian, and their children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Fruman Robert Mushinski, and his mother Barbara Jean Slafko Mushinski, both who were born and raised in the small Polish community of Bremond, Texas.  Growing up, Robert’s parents made many trips with him and his siblings to this small town to spend quality time with their extended family.

He was much loved in his full and passionate life. His life was cut short and he will be missed.
