Manny Adler, 59, of La Porte, passed away April 1, 2018. He was born to Vidalina and Manuel, Sr. on February 11, 1959 in Havana, Cuba. He came to the U.S. in the Freedom Flight on December 1, 1965, to New Orleans, Louisiana, then to Pasadena, Texas.

Manny went on to marry his first wife, Marie Baughman in 1981. They had three children together, Jackie, Manuel Adler III and Kevin Adler. He later divorced and married Jeanette Ramos on March 28, 1994. Manny took responsibility for raising Tashia Nichole Stevens Garcia, then came Shawn Michael Adler.

On October 31, 2016 Manny was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, which he beat. While taking chemo and radiation treatments, it was found he had stage 4 liver cancer on May 26, 2017 and was told he only had two months to live.

Manny never stopped working while taking cancer treatments and never let anyone know how bad it really was. To Manny it was just something else he worked through as with everything else he did.

Manny is preceded in death by Logan Tyler Hunton and Jerimiah Jeiel Garcia, his grandsons he never got to meet. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jeanette Ramos Adler; children Jackie (John) Hunton, Manuel III (JM) Adler and wife Megan, Kevin Adler, Tashia Stevens Garcia and husband Ramon, and Shawn Michael Adler; granddaughters Alyssa, Courtney, Brianna, Aubrey, and Grace; and grandsons Kameron and Kayden Hunton.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, April 9, 2018, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home in Pasadena. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland.
