William E. “Bill” Pierson

William E. “Bill” Pierson, a resident of Manvel for 25 years, passed away at his home Monday, October 12, 2009 at the age of 70 years.  Bill was born April 1, 1939 in Morgantown, Kentucky to the late Veachel and Evelyn (Edwards) Pierson.

Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  He was a Hamm Radio Operator and a member of the National Rifle Association.

In addition to his parents, Bill is also preceded in death by his son, John.  He is survived by a loving family; his wife of 44 years, Margie Ann (Jordan) Pierson; three daughters, Ruby, Seretta Jo, and Sara; brother, Glen; sister, Lonell Smith and her husband, Bob; 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, October 16, 2009, at Niday Funeral Home.  A service commemorating Bill’s life will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Bill Cole officiating.  Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
