Patrick Kirk Conner

Patrick Kirk Conner, of Friendswood, went home to the Lord Thursday, April 21, 2011.  He was born in Houston, May 4, 1957, to Agnes Marie Cesak Conner and Robert Gerald Conner.  Patrick was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School.  Later he attended Texas A & M University graduating in 1979 with a BS in History.  As a member of the Corps of Cadets, Patrick took a commission in the United States Army where he was a military intelligence officer.  He married Tanyia Turner Conner of Bryan in 1980.  After an honorable discharge, he returned to Houston to work alongside his father at Seabrook Realty and later Seabrook Service Company.

In 1982, Patrick began what would become the oldest independent bus company in the city of Houston, Sierra Trailways.  Patrick served on the Board of Directors of Trailways for 3 years where he began a drive to work with all Trailways affiliates.  In 2005, Sierra Trailways busses were among the first busses to reach the New Orleans Superdome to begin evacuation after Hurricane Katrina.

More than a business man, Patrick was a fun loving man who loved to travel and spend time at his weekend home in Concan, Texas just relaxing in the Hill Country.  He was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Friendswood.  Patrick’s biggest accomplishment was his family.  To the very end Patrick continued to make his family his first priority.  Patrick was preceded in death by his Grandparents, parents Robert and Marie Conner, Aunt Anna Robicheaux, Uncles Bart and Michael Cesak, and son Travis Michael Conner.  He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tanyia, daughter Ashley Suzanne Conner and future son-in-law John Henry Graham III both of Austin, son James Robert Conner and wife Marie Politte Conner of Houston; Aunt Helen Cesak and Uncles Joe Cesak and Wilmer Robicheaux along with numerous cousins and friends.  His kind, generous, and loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
