James Allison “Steve” Stephens was born September 25, 1932 and was called home by the Lord on September 27, 2007. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Allison C. and Grace Biffle Stephens. He attended St. Louis University, graduated from the University of Missouri and earned an MBA degree at UH/ Clear Lake.
Steve served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force from 1955 until 1957. He was stationed at James Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas, where he met and married his loving wife of 51 years Beth Pratt Stephens.
Steve was employed at NASA for 26 years as a financial analyst. He was also a part-time instructor for San Jacinto Junior College specializing in teaching small business management. He served as a Deacon and Elder at St. Stephen Presbyterian Church.
They retired near Willis Texas . Steve was a raconteur, amateur historian, classic movie enthusiast, and landscaper, who truly enjoyed his time spent “in the country”.
He is survived by his wife Beth P. Stephens, sons: Gregory William Stephens and his wife Glenna Lemoine Stephens, Jason Laird Stephens, and Philip James Stephens
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday October 6th, 2007 at Waverly Presbyterian Church 591 Browder Loop in New Waverly, Texas.
