Maria De Los Angeles Chapa was born August 10, 1939, in Parras De La Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico. She went to be with our Lord and Savior Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the age of 70.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Jose R. and Concepcion Delgado, and brother, Gilberto Delgado.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years Erasmo Chapa; five children, Maria and husband Arturo, Erasmo, Jr., Eduardo, Pedro and wife Annette, and Patricia and husband Jose; two brothers, Juan, and Jose R.; sister, Concepcion; 14 grandchildren, Jessica and husband Arturo, Christine, Pedro, Celeste, Selena, Cecilia, Naomi, Eddie, Vanessa, Priscella, Amanda, Jacobe, Jonathan, and Madeleine; two great-grandchildren, Madeline, and Maximiliano; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
A life-long homemaker, Maria dedicated her life to raising her children and caring for her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends.
A special thanks to Dr. T. Pustilnik for her continued care and support, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, and their physicians and nurses.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Niday Funeral Home, where a rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, March 8, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg Blvd.., in Houston. Rite of committal will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, in Houston.
