Jeffrey Alan Walker

Jeffrey Alan Walker died from an accidental drowning Friday, September 9, 2011, on the French Polynesian Island of Raiata near Tahiti.  Jeff was born in Columbus, Ohio April 7, 1956 to Andrew William and Julia Ann Walker.  He grew up in Dickinson, Texas and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1974.  He also graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1978.  Jeff worked in accounting for several years, until deciding to work with his late father in the early eighties.  He moved to Austin, Texas in the late nineties, and got involved in several businesses there.  Jeff got married to Jennifer Cook in 2006.  He lived in Austin up until about the last year of his life when he moved back to Houston.  Jeff is survived by his mother; brother, Steve; one aunt, Evelyn Williams of Palm Beach Gardens FL; and many cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, September 23, at Niday Funeral Home in Houston. The service honoring Jeff’s life will be at 11:00am Saturday, September 24, also at Niday Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. John Morgan. A eulogy will be given by childhood pastor Everett Nix.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Steve Walker, Jesse Blackwell, Ray Jones, Larry Reamy, Boris Rice, and BJ Rieck.
