Mary Sue Lopez

Mary Sue Pena Lopez, 69, passed away October 21, 2011 in Pasadena, Texas with her children and family at her side.

She was born on February 22, 1942 in Victoria, Texas to Joe G. Pena and Rosa Ortiz Pena. She was a loving wife and mother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew U. Lopez, her parents, Joe G. Pena and Rosa Ortiz Pena and her brother, Joe Allen Pena.

She is survived by her children; daughter, Millie (Carlos) Guzman; sons, Daniel Merle Lopez and Andrew (Traci) Lopez. She is also survived by her grandchildren; John Carlos (Rachael) Guzman, PFC Andrea BreAnn Guzman, Andrew Tyler Lopez, Elizabeth Whitney (Irving) Lopez and great grandchild Lucien Lopez.

She was the oldest of eleven children. She is survived by her brother, Matt Pena, sisters: Sedonia Pegram, Minerva Johnson, Rose Mary Baez, Barbara (Daniel) Shuflin, Janie (Robert ) Hansen, Debbie Lewandowski, Evelyn (Terry) Edwards and Irma (Robert) Rocha. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mary Sue lived life to the fullest. She retired from the Pasadena Postal Credit Union after eighteen wonderful years. She was an avid bingo fan and loved to holler B-I-N-G-O. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and taking them shopping. She also enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. They will miss her dearly. She was an avid sports fan and followed the Astros and Chicago “Cubbies” along with her husband.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday October 25, at Niday – Fairmont Funeral Home  in Pasadena  with a Rosary prayed  at 7:00pm
