Michael Virgil Swanson

Michael Virgil Swanson was born April 17, 1953 in Denver, Colorado to Virgil and Miriam Swanson. He moved to Houston as a boy where, after the death of his mother Miriam, he was raised by Virgil and Dorothy Swanson.

After getting his first job as a teenager at The Houston Chronicle, he worked as a distributor for 36 years where he personified hard work and dedication and was respected and admired by his carriers and everyone else he worked with. After marrying Diana Gill on July 17, 1976, he spent his free time bowling, fishing, traveling, skiing, playing golf and tennis, listening to talk radio and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Diana; his beloved children, Les and his wife Tracey, Andrea and her husband Samuel, Michael and his wife Teddy; his treasured grandchildren Riddick and Elliot Claire; his caring sisters Jackie and Donna; his cherished mother Dorothy; along with countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know him.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, January 11th, and the Funeral Service celebrating Michael’s life will be at 11:00am Thursday, January 12th both held at Niday Funeral Home on Beamer. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
