On December 26, 2009 Angela Knight Probe, of Liverpool, Texas, died suddenly in a motor vehicle accident while on vacation with family and friends in Costa Rica. Angela was born March 17, 1963 in Anniston, Calhoun County, Alabama and subsequently found her home in Houston, Texas where she spent the last twenty-one years.
Angela is survived by her devoted husband of seventeen years, James Steven Probe, her son Ronald Lee Medders, her father Richard Knight, brother Rick Knight, and brother Tony Tankersley.
Her mother Garnita Moody Knight preceded her in death.
Angela’s most salient features were the warmth of her smile and her interest in the well being of those around her. Her chosen profession of Real Estate was a perfect outlet for these characteristics as she welcomed countless families to the Houston area by providing them the security that comes from home ownership. Because of her recognized expertise, she was selected as a member of Madison’s Who’s Who in Real Estate in addition to being a member of the Houston Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors and the Bay Area Women’s Council of Realtors.
Outside of work, Angela was an unparalleled wife, mother and friend. She fostered these relationships through a continuous selfless giving of herself. Her favorite times were those spent outdoors with close family and friends enjoying the simple pleasures of the Guadalupe River or a backyard crawfish boil. One always knew that Angie’s “events” would be meticulously organized, filled with laughter, great food and sincere friendship.
Angela was always looking to “give back” to country and community. Her pride for her son’s contribution to the US military was apparent. She contributed to the National cause through volunteer work with the Brazoria County Military Wives and Moms. Locally, Angie drew strength from the small town values of Liverpool and lived these values in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike as she and her neighbors drew together for the community’s reconstruction.
The Funeral Service for Angela will be at 11:00am Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Niday Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am in Teague, Texas. Immediately following this service will be a visitation at Bowers Funeral Home, 900 Hwy. 84 West, Teague, Texas 75860, telephone 254-739-2511.
Injured in the same accident, a dear friend, Ernesto Carranza, remains hospitalized in critical condition in Costa Rica. Consistent with Angie’s life, we suspect she would want donations directed toward his recovery and care. These may be mailed to Texas Dow Employees Credit Union, 1001 FM 2004 Road, Lake Jackson, Texas 77566-4012; Ernesto or Angelita Carranza, Club acct # 40053-7.
