John William Hickman
John William Hickman, 63, of Houston passed away July 24th, 2012 after battling many long illnesses. He was born in Washington DC on June 26th, 1949. John is preceded in death by his mother, Frances D. Hickman, his father, Norris D. Hickman and his daughter, Raina B. Hickman.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sherri and his daughters, Lauren and Coronado, sister-in-law Serita Sjostrom and husband David, brother-in-law Jack Gardner and wife, Brenda and nephew Austin Gardner.
He graduated from the American High School in London, and from Calhoon School of Engineering with a BS in Marine Engineering. John worked as a Marine Engineer in the Merchant Marine for 27 years before retiring. He loved jet skiing, boating, traveling, snow skiing and cigars.
The Memorial Service celebrating John’s life will be held Friday, July 27th, at 7:00pm at Niday Fairmont Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, starting at 5:00pm.
In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
