Donna Sue Alexander passed away unexpectedly July 26, 2012.  Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 13, 1943, she was 69 years old.

Donna Sue was a talented woman and a devoted wife and mother.  She shared a love for the outdoors with her husband, Jimmy.  Together, they sowed the soil of Texas and mined the hills of Arizona.  They found great joy attending deer camp each season.  Their passion, however, was fishing – if it had been possible, they would have spent all of their days with rod and reel.  The couple won numerous fishing tournaments, and Donna Sue was named “Lady Angler of the Year” in 1997 and 1998 at Gulf Coast Trout Masters.  A gourmet cook, she routinely shared wonderful dishes with family and friends.

Donna Sue was a long time resident of Manvel, Texas and active in the Manvel/Pearland communities.  She was office manager of her family’s business – the cog that kept all of the wheels turning. She was loving and compassionate, lived life joyfully and was loyal to her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lorenzo David Breneman, her mother, Sarah Jane Owings-Breneman, her sister Sandra Jane Gaddis, and her son Roger Lynn Smith.

Donna Sue is survived by her husband Jimmy F. Alexander who she described as “her husband and best friend, the person with whom I shared my life and gave my heart to, my soul mate.”

She is survived by her sons Jay Warren Smith and Russell Wade Smith and daughters Sandra Gay Alexander-Means and husband Jimmy of Houston; Cheryl Rae Alexander-Davis and husband Aaron of Cypress; grandchildren Ethan Means, Hugh Foster Means, Alexandra Rae Means, Aiden Riley Davis, Hunter Brayden Davis, Sarah Jane Smith, Laura Lee Smith, and Taylor Smith; her brothers Bill Breneman and Jim Breneman, of Jasper, Tennessee; Danny Breneman and wife Roberta of Hixon, Tennessee; and, Steve Breneman of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Donna Sue is also survived by her brothers-in-law Johnny B. Alexander and wife Sue of Pearland, and Larry L. Alexander of Alvin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 1, 2012, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, and the funeral service will be Thursday, August 2, 2012, at 10:00am, both held at Niday Funeral Home – Beamer Chapel.  Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.

Pallbearers include Arthur Guice, Mark Kreft, David Brown, Gary Powell, Bobby Griffin and Jerry Killen.
