Alvis Woodrow Massey Jr. passed away quietly July 26, 2012 at the age of 71. He was born August 19th, 1940 in Marlin, Texas to Marie McKelroy and Alvis Woodrow Massey Senior. He served in the United States Navy from September 11th, 1957 to August 18th, 1961. He attended Alvin Community College and Rice University. He married Bobbie Beth Smith on April 25th, 1964. He is survived by his wife Beth Massey; daughters Pamela Massey and Kimberly Massey Barber and husband Sidney; grandchildren Franklin and Rhianna Barber; brother Curtis A. Massey; niece Melanie Massey, brother in law Joe Smith and wife Pauline; niece Karen Hopper and husband T. J. Hopper, nephew Tom Smith and wife Courtney; great nephews Taylor and John Hopper, and great niece Michelle Hopper. He was heavily active in HAL PC and worked in sales and management for several car dealerships in the Houston area.  His recent employment included writing articles for The Houston Business Journal as well as editing daily articles for Eye for Energy. The Family will receive friends Wednesday August 1, 2012 from 10:00am -12:00pm at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday at Grand View Memorial Park located at 8501 Spencer Hwy Pasadena, Texas 77505.
