Misayo Agena Ricks

Misayo Agena Ricks, a resident of Houston, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the age of 58 years.  Misayo was born April 15, 1952 in Okinawa, Japan to Itsuko Agena and the late Kazuo Kinjo.

In addition to her father, Misayo is preceded in death by a sister, Raiko Agena, her father-in-law, Leighton Ricks, and her mother-in-law, Effie Lou Ricks.  She is survived by a loving family; her husband, Arthur E. Ricks; eight children, Gina Chambers and her husband, Doug, of Pasadena, Lisa Garcia and her husband, Juan, of Houston, Michael Ricks and his wife, Cara, of Spring, and Jeramy Ricks and his wife, Vanessa Rivera,  Mari Ricks, Matthew Ricks, Nolan Kyle Ricks and Rita Ricks, all of Houston; her mother, Itsuko “Mom” Agena, of Okinawa, Japan; sister, Satsuko Yuki Raatz, of Watertown, South Dakota; seven grandchildren, Kathleen Chambers, of Pasadena, Nicholas Garcia, of Houston, Garrick Chambers, of Pasadena, Ethan Ricks, of Pearland, Liliana Garcia, of Houston, Caleb Ricks, of Spring, and Julian Ricks, of Houston; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

A celebration of the funeral liturgy will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday, August 2, 2010, at Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 10727 Hartsook St. in Houston, with Deacon Robert Stevens officiating.  The family will receive friends before the service, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
