Peggy Delores Waddell went to be with Jesus on October 22, 2013. She was born April 1, 1941 in Thomasville, NC to the late Clayton and Mary Catherine Williams. She, along with her family moved to Pasadena, TX in 1973.
All her days, Peggy enjoyed NASCAR Racing and wearing North Carolina T-shirts. She loved the color, Easter yellow. Autumn was her favorite season, as she marveled over the color change of the leaves. Peggy loved her family very much, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Peggy retired from NASA Space Center-Houston in 2005 after 30 years of service. She was proud of her position as flight packer specialist, working closely with flights in space. In December 2003, Peggy was recognized as Johnson Space Center’s Employee of the Month. Among her many noteworthy accomplishments has been the difficult and emotional task of packing up the personal belongings of STS 107 astronaut Willie McCool, a job she completed with characteristic professionalism and sensitivity. Peggy was widely known for commitment to excellence as well as her bright smile and friendly attitude, earning her lasting respect. She had many fond memories of her coworkers, especially Norma Jean.
Peggy leaves this world joining her family before her… daughter-Infant Waddell, father and mother-Clayton and Mary Catherine Williams, brothers-Joe Neil, Bobby and David Williams.
She is survived by her children-Charles “Louie” Waddell, Kimberly “Sissy” Clary, Gary “Fred” Waddell and wife Mel, Shawn “Frass” Gill and husband Kevin, 8 grandchildren-Casie, Nathan, Lauren, Andrew, Christi, Aaron, Courtney and Amanda. 6 great-grandchildren-Kaylie, Jaedyn, Casen, Brianne, Gage and Laney, Sister-Virginia Brown, brother-Franklin Williams. Peggy will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her, but have the promise of seeing her again in heaven.
Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Niday Funeral Home; 12440 Beamer Road; Houston, TX 77089.
