Robert E. “Bud” Saunders, Jr.

Robert E. “Bud” Saunders, Jr., 53, beloved husband and father, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 in Houston, Texas.  He was born August 26, 1957 and spent his childhood in the vicinity of Dickinson, TX.  He was an accomplished brick mason and his artistic abilities were reflected in his work.  He was an avid fisherman and classic car enthusiast.  In 2008, Bud was the recipient of a double lung transplant.  We are grateful for the generosity of a donor family’s gift of life.  He was blessed with a successful recovery and unfortunately passed away from complications during a routine procedure, not from organ rejection.

Bud was preceded in death by his father, R.E. “Bud” Saunders, Sr.  He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mary Lanzo Saunders, his son, Michael Saunders, his mother, Alice Saunders, sister, Karla Lilley and husband George, sisters-in-law Jo Anne Lanzo Neslage, Carolyn Lanzo Smith and husband, Durward and several nieces and nephews.
